SCREEN AND TELEVISION WORK

Steve worked with Amber Films in Newcastle, scripting the Channel 4 feature film ‘T.Dan.Smith'. He has also written extensively for many popular TV series including: 'The Knock', 'Heartbeat', 'Medics', 'Wycliffe', ‘Rockface’, and the BBC series 'Between The Lines', for which he won a Writer's Guild Award. He wrote an episode of ‘Midsomer Murders’ for Bentley Productions entitled ‘BANTLING BOY’, which was broadcast earlier this year, and is currently writing another episode for the programme. Steve writes regularly for ‘The Bill’.

TEACHING WORK

Steve has taught screen and theatre writing in several universities and colleges, most recently as Fellow in Creative Writing at the University of Reading.
